COGS Revives “Working Remotely Technology Awards”:

To help defray the costs of technology upgrades needed to work and complete coursework/research remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic,  COGS has designated a limited amount of funds to offer one-time award funds of up to $50.00 to MSU Graduate & Professional students to help cover these costs. (Receipts for purchases must be dated on or after July 1, 2020.) Full details, funding guidelines, and application can be found here: COGS Working Remotely Technology Award

COGS Graduate Academic Conference is Now Accepting Abstracts!

The COGS 13th Annual Graduate Academic Conference will be all virtual and take place on February 20, 2021. We are now accepting abstracts for poster and oral presentationsThis conference provides a great opportunity to fine-tune your presentation skills and gain valuable insight on how to communicate your research to a generalized audience. You’ll receive feedback on your poster or oral presentation from a slate of adjudicators and the winner of the Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition qualifies to go on to the regional competition. The top three winners in each category — oral, poster, Three-Minute-Thesis (3MT) — will each be awarded prizes of $300, $200, and $100 respectively. (*Must be an enrolled MSU graduate or professional student to qualify for cash prizes and 3MT advancement.)

This year’s entirely virtual event will be hosted through the Whova platform. You will be able to interact with presenters and watch the presentations via your computer or mobile device! The service will have an agenda for the day that you can interact with to navigate to the many wonderful presentations happening throughout the day.

In addition to the competition, presenters will have the opportunity to participate in workshops to enhance their communication skills. Not presenting? You can watch your peers’ presentations and attend the workshops too! Please see attached, and visit our webpage (https://cogs.msu.edu/gac/) for more information and be sure to check back often for updates.  Interested and want to receive extra reminders?
