PhD student Leonardo Guédez (Michigan State University, Second Language Studies) will be hosting a panel discussion and Q&A for incoming grad students in languages and linguistics with panelists Andrea Hernando (Michigan State University), Jyoti Iyer (University of Massachusetts Amherst), deandre miles-hercules (University of California, Santa Barbara), Philip Montgomery (Michigan State University), and Holly Wheeler (Northern Arizona University), five graduate students with a range of grad school backgrounds. During the panel, they will discuss their experiences in their MA and PhD programs, offer tips for sometimes excelling, sometimes just surviving, and for maintaining a good support system, as well as answer individual questions from the audience on the international student experience, research, teaching, parenting during grad school, and more. The discussion will largely be based on the US-grad school experience, but all are welcome!
Please share with incoming students! All questions can be directed to Leonardo Guédez (guedezle@msu.edu).
