On July 7th, Isaac Veyey-White successfully defended his dissertation
His dissertation, Mapping Precarity & Resistance to Neoliberalism in Post-2008 Spanish Comics is a wide-ranging study of comics, graphic novels and political cartoons related to the 2008 global financial crisis that sparked the Great Recession and a severe economic, political and cultural crisis in Spain that has had far-reaching and long-lasting effects on contemporary Spanish society. His committee members included Sonja Fritzsche, Julian Chambliss, Tony Grubbs, Miguel Cabañas and myself as chair.
Isaac will begin teaching at Williams College in Massachusetts next month as a Visiting Assistant Professor.
