French Comics

Students in French of FRN 440: Perspectives in Literature and the Arts of the Francosphere studied the history of French and Francophone comics in their historical and political context and created a comic strip in French as their final project.

Most of them worked in groups of two and developed a topic of their choice: some integrated important historical events discussed in this class, others tackled socio-political questions outside of the Francosphere, and others rewrote conventional tales, including Santa Claus and his reindeer. All of these projects highlight the creativity and engagement of the students in this class, and their capacity to connect class material with topics they hold dear.
