Program: Ph.D. –  French and Francophone Studies – Interdisciplinary Studies concentration (Second Language Studies)

Position: Teaching Assistant II (FRN 201 – FS22; SS23)

Research Interests: Focused mainly on pronunciation skills in non-native speakers and the interdisciplinary causes of the foreign accent in French. Laëtitia wants to deepen how linguistic elements link to social and identity phenomena in pronunciation, establish connections that relate these fields of study to the accent, and understand why such external factors influence correct pronunciation.

Laëtitia Kokx is a Ph.D. student in French and Francophone Studies (Interdisciplinary concentration), and a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University.

She holds a Maîtrise in Language Didactics from the Université of Angers and earned her MA degree in Language Didactics at the Université of Le Mans.

Previous diplomas included the DAEFLE (Alliance Française) and 2 DITALS certificates (International University for foreigners of Siena).

Laëtitia taught French and Italian at beginner and intermediate levels in different contexts for several years.

She is a member of the organizing committee and a fellow of the Albertine French Film Festival 2023 at MSU
