SPN 202: Second-Year Spanish II
SPN 202: Second-Year Spanish II
Fall, Spring, and Summer | 4 credits
SPN 202 is the final course in the basic language sequence and is meant for students with three semesters of university-level Spanish, or two or more years of high school Spanish.
This course prepares students to take their Spanish language journey into their own hands. Whether planning to continue into upper-division coursework or exploring independent learning opportunities, SPN 202 equips students with the tools to become lifelong Spanish learners and speakers. Students can expect an immersive classroom experience where Spanish will be used every single day by their instructor and classmates as they all work together toward Spanish proficiency.
To support their development, students will complete five 30-minute conversations with native Spanish speakers. These conversations directly support the course’s learning objectives, classroom instruction, and student-led projects.
Communication is key in this class, as students continue to deepen their intercultural competency alongside their Spanish language abilities.

- describe what is special about someone’s culture and present it to a large group.
- interview someone about a topic of my choosing and relate that information to my class.

- discuss important elements related to my future and seek advice from a third party.
